Creamer

Henrik Sandberg, Helsinki, Finland, 1795–1818

Silver, gilt

13,5 cm × 15,0 cm × 7,0 cm

In the Gustavian period, creamers were often shaped like an upturned helmet. The collection’s creamer is decorated with a fluted motif, and with a medallion depicting a human figure on each flank. The creamer has a perforated base with round feet, typical of the late eighteenth century.
