Tureen, rococo

Qianlong, China. 1760–1770s.

Faience.

31,0 cm x 37,5 cm x 23,0 cm.

The collection’s porcelain tureen (or terrine) was made in China in or around the 1760s–1770s. Based on Rococo models, its form is very dynamic and asymmetrical. The delicate floral patterns are made in enamel colours and the edges and lid are emblazoned with an as yet unidentified coat of arms.
