Gunnar Berndtson: Still Life, Flowers in Baroque Jug

Gunnar Berndtson (1854–1895) is known for careful depictions of historical scenes and high-quality renditions. His oeuvre also includes a number of still lifes, such as this one from the late 1800s. It is a masterpiece of material rendering, with the soft floral shapes and warm redness of the flowers contrasting with the jug’s light-reflecting metal and the dark wooden tabletop.
